Baked Eggs?

Everywhere I look, everywhere I read, everywhere I go (well, not really - but you get my point!) I'm hearing about baked eggs.

How, what, who, where, explain!

This culinary treat seems to be totally in vogue and I just don't know the darnest about them. Tasty? Not tasty? Good, bad, in between, so-so. Someone, explain to me. Please? I'd like to try. *nods*
